A couple of days ago I was fortunate to have got hold of a ticket to the Steeple Times organised event "What Makes Art Sell?' event at the Library Club in Covent Garden.
It was a panel discussion with lots of questions from the audience sat in the intimate space.
For about 45 minutes Jackie Branston steered the discussion panel made up of Cyrus Mahboubian, Alexander Massouras, Oliver Newton and Nolan Brown.
Chatting to Todd Leach.
Paused for a snap with Matthew Steeples of Steeple Times and compare, Jackie Branston.
The answer by the way:
There is no single answer and there doesn't appear to be a mysterious secret formula. It's subjective; sometimes simple and sometimes complicated. Keep producing. Artists should defend their integrity, not trying to please all the folk all the time, keep at it and if one original doesn't sell, don't print a thousand!
Big thanks to David Kerr for his special tour of the local haunts!
